A few days after the plane we went to an awesome museum called German Historic Museum. It had a glowing map that showed the lands that Germany ruled over different years.

Last Days in Italia

Hi Everyone!!

For my last days in Italy we went from Tuscany to Verona. We had a fancy dinner and Daddy & I wore our tuxedo’s and Mummy and the girls were all fancy too

The waiter was really nice and he showed my a magic trick with napkin and a toothpick. I’ll show it to you when I get home

We went to the opera. The show was called Aida. It was in a really old theatre called the “Arena” and it has no roof so you can see the sky while you are watching the opera

I slept through the last part of the opera because it was really late. I woke up at the hotel and we packed up again.

We drove the Scuda to a place called San Stefano al Mare. It’s on the north west coast of Italy. It is really nice and it has a BEACH!!

We stayed in a guard tower that was built in 1550.

It’s really cool and has some weapons from the old days on the walls!

In the town I saw some posts that had my friend Benito’s name on them.

On our last day in the beach town, we went out for dinner and I decided to wear my tuxedo again.

On the way home I saw a poster for a Michael Jackson tribute show. I like Michael Jackson so I did the moonwalk

And I got to eat more GELATTO!!

Today we got to Milan. It’s a really big city like Toronto but way older. It has lots of shops and I got to finish my Italia team outfit with the blue shorts. This is me in front of the Duomo (means church in Italian) wearing my Italia uniform. Too bad they are out of the finals

There is a big mall there called a Galleria. It has a glass roof and is way nicer than the Dufferin Mall

Ciao for now!! I will write again from Germany

Oliver

Hello room 201!! And all my other friends & family!!

I’m sorry I am late with making new posts to my holiday blog. The internet connection at our hotel is not good so when it’s working Daddy says I need to be quick

We left Venice on Tuesday. The boat ride from the hotel to the airport was wicked awesome – and it stopped raining so we had a good ride

W

We rented a big van called a Fiat Scuda. Daddy does all the driving and says that driving here is way more dangerous than driving in Toronto

The roads here are really twisty

and we went through lots of mountains

We are staying in Pestoia. Our hotel is nice but not as nice as Venice. My favourite parts of the hotel are swimming in the pool even if it’s really cold

and kicking the soccer ball around with my family

We went to Florence and it’s really old too…

The Ufizzi Gallery and museum were kind of boring for me. Except for the Medusa painting – and I got a Medusa head pin for my shirt at the gift shop.

But afterward I got to eat more GELATTO!!

On one of the bridges in Florence there all all sorts of locks attached to each other. I don’t know why they are here but Mummy says we will try to investigate later. I picked one of the locks with a hairpin and I was really proud of myself

Today we went on a winery tour.  On the way home we stopped at another old town. It’s like the places here are stopped in time. We had lunch and watched a little bit of the soccer game. Italia lost – oh no!!!

We are going to Verona tomorrow so I”ll let you know how things are going then.

Grazi (that means thank-you in Italian) for  viewing and Ciao (goodbye) to everyone!!!

More from Venice

Hi everybody! This link will take you to my video of my gondola ride in Venice. Venice is really old and it’s in water

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqI5WaZqeO8&feature=channel

Some other things I did today and yesterday were:

Watch the soccer game with daddy

It’s still raining so the water comes up on top of the sidewalks sometimes

Theres a mask festival every year in Venice so many of the stores sell masks. I like the animal masks

We went to a restaurant and the  boys bathroom didn’t have a toilet seat

We saw pizza dough made into happy faces

Day 1

We left Toronto at 10pm on Friday.
I went to the bathroom  alot on the plane because I drank a lot of juice and I liked the “whooshing” sound when I flushed the toilet. Mummy let me wear my pyjamas on the plane and i slept for a while on mummy & daddy’s laps. And then we went on a water taxi that took us to our apartment/hotel in venice. When i got here I was speechless – because venice is so cool.  We saw a lot of buildings that seemed to be sinking into the water. And when I saw our hotel it was nice and clean. Then we went outside and we bought some groceries and on the way back daddy bought me a soccer ball from South Africa and a Team ITALIA world cup tee shirt. And the shop man gave me free soccer ball shaped yo-yo . And then we had a nice dinner at a restaurant. Mummy said it was the best dinner she’s ever had. We get lost lost a lot in Venice because the streets are kinda narrow and daddy says the map is useless
This is me writing in my Journal at Toronto airport
